Xero integration for stock management

This article provides a concise overview of how to effectively utilise the product catalogue in Powered Now and Xero integration for efficient stock management.

Xero features a dedicated section for effective stock management. Using the integration between Powered Now and Xero you can integrate this with your Product Catalogue in Powered Now, allowing you to easily monitor your usage of items in relation to your available stock.

 

When you create an item for your Product Catalogue in Powered Now, there is a section to enter an SKU. This can be used for an abbreviation or a unique number for the product.

After creating the item in Powered Now. Head over to the Products and Services section of Xero and add that item to your Xero product list. When creating the item in Xero it will ask you to enter a Code for that item. To link that item to your item in Powered now, in the Code section, enter the same that you entered into the SKU for the item in your Powered Now.

Once you do this and apply the stock numbers to the item in Xero. When you create an invoice in Powered Now for that item, the number that you enter in the Quantity field will be taken off of the unit number for that item in Xero.

After you create the invoice and sync it to Xero, the quantity of the item specified in the invoice will be deducted from the available stock in Xero. This adjustment will reflect the remaining quantity of that item, along with a summary of the most recent transactions related to the product.

If you ever create an invoice and the quantity on the document is more than the quantity you have in stock, you will receive an error message when syncing your Powered Now and Xero together to let you know there is not enough stock available.
